What is pipe relining?

Pipe Relining is a non-invasive drain repair technique that installs a new sleeve inside the existing damaged drain, patching the cracks or damage within the drain itself. The most significant benefit is that you avoid digging, so costs are minimised compared to intrusive excavations and the replacement of pipes.

With most relining jobs being completed within the same day, our team can have your drains fixed and ready to use without any downtime and no need for intrusive digging, excavating, heavy machinery, concreters, gardeners, landscapers, or follow-up repairs. This means less disruption for you, your home or business and your family.

How does pipe relining work?

Our team uses our high-resolution CCTV drain inspection equipment to get the inside story of what’s going on inside your drains. They will locate any points of damage, so you know exactly what the damage is and what repairs need to be carried out to fix it. This way, you can decide what method is best for you and your budget.

Once we have assessed the damage and are confident that pipe relining is a viable solution, we will prepare the pipes for relining. Using either our high-pressure water jet or one of our specialised grinders, we will give your drains a thorough clean and ensure all obstructions have been removed.

After the pipes are clear and clean, our experienced team will prepare a patented high-quality seam-free liner with an epoxy resin and insert it inside your existing pipe. When the liner is in place, a bladder is inflated using compressed air, which forces the liner into shape, where it is left to cure and bond to your existing piping.

When the resin liner is fully cured, we deflate and remove the bladder and give the pipe one final CCTV inspection to confirm the successful process.

In a short amount of time, your drains will be rehabilitated with a rock-solid and durable finish within the old pipe, with all the properties and reliability of a replacement pipe.

FAQ - Pipe relining

What size pipe can be relined?

Drain and pipe relining is a versatile tool that can be tailored to suit various cracks and defects in many shapes and sizes.

How much does relining cost?

Pipe and drain relining can be a much more economical solution to repair a drain that requires excavation as it is quicker and less disruptive, resulting in lower cost. Depending on the size, length and type of damage, the price of relining varies.

Sewer drain relining vs a complete drain replacement?

Replacing a complete drain is often the last resort; in most cases, relining is a better alternative due to its non-invasive nature. The benefit of relining is that it works on cracked pipes, drains with missing sections, or recurring blockages. As drainage excavations are a more intense process, they are not a genuine alternative to pipe relining and can be necessary when a blockage is too severe.

Can drain relining work on all types of pipes?

Yes, drain relining is versatile and can be used on sewer pipes, cement, stormwater drains, PVC, cast iron or fibreglass. In each case, the solution is always long-term with a proven track record of success.
